Hi, I'm Peta, an Australian artist currently living in Brisbane. I hold a Bachelor of Music, a Bachelor of Teaching, and a Masters of Special Education, and I have always enjoyed creative pursuits such as music, craft, knitting, crochet, and embroidery.

While living in Melbourne during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdowns, I began drawing as a way to stay grounded through the long days at home. What began as a simple pastime quickly grew into a deep passion, and drawing soon became my main creative outlet. Since 2022, I have been mentored by award-winning artist, author and illustrator Cindy Wider, which has shaped both my artistic development and my approach to supporting others.

I work primarily with coloured pencil, graphite, Derwent Inktense, PanPastel, and pastel pencil, with a focus on realism, portraiture, and illustration. I draw inspiration from nature, family, and the nativity, and I love the calm, reflective process of creating art.

As a certified Cindy Wider method instructor, my aim is to support others to grow their skills and confidence in a gentle, encouraging, and structured way. I combine my teaching background with my art practice to help students progress step-by-step, whether they are complete beginners or developing artists.

There’s nothing I love more than spending time immersed in creating, sharing my work with others, and mentoring those who are learning to draw.
